The Rule of Law

Our great country was founded upon the cherished principle that unalienable rights are bestowed upon all by the creator, God. To preserve what God ordained for man, we have instituted laws. All the laws ever enacted in the United States, have been expressly written in support of the highest law of all, God's law that says that all are created equal and have those inalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the Persuit of Happiness. Our constitution is the highest law of our country. All subsequently written and enacted laws must support our constitution.

Therefore, what is going on inside the United Auto Workers union should alarm everybody. Washington is watching and learning whether this will fly or not. Because the automotive manufacturing sector is in so much trouble, the automotive suppliers are having an even worse time trying to stay afloat. As an excuse to circumvent the United Auto Workers union's constitution, President Ron Gettlefinger, who is nearing the end of his second term as Union President, is seeking to set aside the constitution of the union which states that he is term limited to just two terms, so that he can help maintain continuity for suppliers, many of whom have workers that are members. Now, if Ron Gettlefinger can do this at the union, why cant this be done for the country also? Washington is watching, and if this flies for the union, they will try it on the rest of us too!

New leadership is not going to harm the suppliers. The fate of the suppliers is not in jeopardy if Mr. Gettlefinger is not at the helm of the union.

Now, I am not opposed to repealing those term limits within the confines of the current constitution, like with a constitutional ammendment. But to just "set aside" the provisions in the current constitution is alarming, and it should alarm you too!

Dinner for Two!

After returning home from work this afternoon and being pay day, I suggested to my wife that we go out for dinner at Papa Vino's Italian Kitchen. We have not eaten there in a couple of months, and we really like the fare. It is five star Italian dining at three star price. It is not an uppity place either, it has a warm and fun family atmosphere. It is a place where you can open the menu, close your eyes, and place your finger anywhere on it, and be totally satisfied with what you get!

I had my favorite dish, Pasta Con Polo, which has grilled chicken breast strips, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh basil and a light Alfredo sauce tossed with bow-tie pasta (magnificent). Su had the Combination Del Mare, which had seasoned Talapia fillet and shrimp over angel hair pasta in a white wine sauce and two crab meat stuffed Portabella mushroom caps with a light garlic butter sauce. We split a Papa's salad which has crisp mixed greens, bacon, blue cheese, calamata olives, and a lite house dressing. For my dessert we each had canolis.

While we were waiting for our diner to arrive, we shared a freshly baked loaf of bread which we dipped in olive oil and spices poured over freshly roasted minced garlic on a plate. We had a coupon for one free entre, so the entire outing including a generous tip for our server Mat, came to only 41 dollars!

Obama is a Domestic Terrorist

Today here in Michigan it was reported that the latest figures for the unemployment rate ticked up to 11.5 percent! which means that if you put 100 Michigan residents in a room, 11 have no job and 1 is going to be fired tomorrow.

Every time that Obama or anyone else in his administration opens their mouth, the market tanks. Why? Because of fear and uncertainty at just what the administration will do next! President "Doom and Gloom" is really good at fear mongering. He was termed as a "one man wrecking machine" in regards to the economy by one Democrat in the house!

I recently had to make a run to Brampton Ontario with parts for the automotive parts supplier Benteler Automotive. While I was there I spoke to two different Canadian workers who had health issues. One had sciatica that made him limp badly. I asked him what he did to his foot, and he told me his sciatica was acting up again. The other fellow had torn a ligament in his shoulder while on the job three years ago. He was on lite duty, and was in constant pain. His range of motion was limited for his left arm. His story was nightmarish. He waited for a year to get an MRI, then another year for it to be interpreted, only to be told that he needed to have another MRI done! All the while he suffered with excruciating pain. He had been given 30 days worth of Oxycontin and when it was gone his doctor told him that he was unable to prescribe any more for him because the government says that it was potentially addicting!

So three years later he is still in severe pain, and the doctors cant do anything for him. He just received a letter that states that the range of motion in his left arm was only 50 percent and the prognosis was that he would not get any better. There was no hope of scheduling a surgery to reattach the torn ligament in his shoulder (because the government deems that to be too costly a surgery)! This type of horrific situation is exactly what Obama wants to do for us! What a compassionate man he is.

Obama supporters say that "a little socialism is a good thing". This clown Obama is a socialist Marxist who must be stopped. The Obama supporters say, "give him a chance, he has only been in office for one month." and I say to that "just how much more damage are you willing to endure to our society before you wake up and see that this Marxist should never have been elected to office as President? Are you willing to wait until your retirement savings is completely wiped out? Are you willing to wait until you need a lifesaving surgery and the doctors tell you that the government says you can't have it because it costs too much? Are you willing to live in constant pain because the government deems pain medication is too addictive or not cost effective? Are you willing to endure all of this "hope and change" for the sake of advancing Obama's radical socialist, Marxist agenda?

He wants to "soak the rich" and give everyone a tax break at the same time. Good luck with that objective. He plans to raise everyone's' taxes by taxing the hell out of you at the gas pump, and for all energy you use. How the hell does that translate into a "tax break for 95% of all Americans"? It should be painfully obvious to everyone by now that he does not know what in the hell he is doing. And his gross ineptitude is destroying our society from the inside out! Watch out people, YOU are in his cross hairs!

The Marxist States of America

I did not vote for Obama because I did not believe that he had any real experience to bring to the table. As a conservative, I was not entirely thrilled at the prospect of McCain as the only alternative either but sometimes you have to choose between the lesser of two evils. At least McCain showed some integrity in that he did what he said when it comes to campaign finances. He accepted public funding and was limited in what he had to spend on the campaign. On the other hand, Obama had agreed to take public funding but (perhaps as a harbinger of things to come) did exactly the opposite and instead privately raised over 800 million dollars during the campaign so that he could outspend the competition and effectively purchase the White House.

Obama is two faced. He talks about giving tax breaks to 95% of the middle class, yet his administration is now proposing to raise the gasoline tax by ten cents, and also add a miles driven tax. That's right, they are not going to rest until they wring every last dime that they can get out of you saps that willfully donate by living your lives as you normally do. Our freedoms are under attack by the radical agenda of the left and they are winning!

Obama's budget is astounding. In it is the death nell of capitalism. It will kill the real estate business which is already on life support because it removes the incentive to purchase with its well thought out class warfare idiom of removing the tax write off for home mortgage interest! Who will put any skin into the game when renting will give them more flexibility? There is no advantage to owning anymore with Obama's budget. He is a Marxist that is against everything American. His goal is to kill the American Dream of home ownership and he is off to a great start folks. And all his talk of reforming health care is an eminence front for taking more of your money and freedoms away from you! His idea of taking away the deduction for charitable contributions is not only a direct assault against organized religions, but against all charities that help fill in the gaps where politics has failed previously including, not for profit hospitals! Most of the major hospitals in this country operate as not for profit organizations. So they will suffer a huge loss in donations and will have to cut back on services, research projects, innovation, expansion and growth. Now I ask you, is that the "hope and change" that we can believe in? Is that the hope and change that we need? Is that real reform for health care?

Obama's brand of hope and change is to take our world leading medicine and choke it down to third "world status"! that's not the hope and change that I want! How about you? Welcome to Obamatopia, where the elderly and sick wait for the bureaucrats to dole out meager hope in measured doses as the politicians hope and pray that they die before they actually have to pay out for any semblance of care that would be rendered at a run down, outdated and dilapitatd hospital. You damned obamanoids deserve what your going to get because you were warned by loud voices on the right and still you installed this clown in office. Enjoy your crappy health care that costs everyone else more money than we can possibly afford.

Joe the plumber had it right folks; Obama's plan to "spread the wealth around" is like the little scroll that the apostle John was instructed to eat from the hand of the angel. It tasted sweet as honey in the mouth but sours the stomach once swallowed. Well we swallowed it damn it! We elected the most radical, leftist, Marxist Chicago thug of a politician to the highest office in the world. think I am kidding? Look at the ridiculous three ring circus that is Chicago politics with a deposed Governor of Illinois (a criminal who was big on ego and "pay for play") and his lackey, Roland Burris whom he appointed to fill Obama's vacant senate seat just before he got canned. And Obama's political career was incubated there. Do you honestly think that he is any different? He is as crooked as they come, and he is a Marxist. He is all about punishing success, and rewarding failure. He wants to keep all opposition as dependent upon the government (upon him) as possible because that is how despots hold onto power (witness Hugo Chavez)! Keeping them dependent assures his reelection for a second term.

First we had him handing off the writing of the "stimulus bill" to that kook Queen Nasty (Nancy) Pelosi who larded it up with all the pork she could cull from her leftist colleagues in the house that they were unable to get passed over the past 40 years, then Obama trumps that with his back breaking budget. It boggles the mind. How stupid is this guy? Raising taxes during a deep recession, removing the incentives to take risk and invest in business or our personal wealth building activities, talking all about doom and gloom for years to come is not the way to inspire confidence. Maybe Obama should take a lesson from Bush. Bush was a cheerleader. He was an eternal optimist. When he spoke, albeit fumbling with words often, but the substance of his message was clear and hopeful.

I hope that those Republican Governors do refuse to take any of that preposterous stimulus money. Obama is not a uniter, he is a divider. He is an ideologue that has no real world experience and it now shows. Mark Levin is absolutely right, this hack is out to destroy the capitalistic system of the free market. That is his goal because he is a Marxist. He wants to "rebuild" our union into the "Marxist States of America". He wants to "remake" our constitution into what suits his agenda. He wants to "reform" the best health care system in the world into a "third world" class operation where rationing of health care is the norm. He wants to "spread the wealth" by taking more from people who actually work, and giving it to those who are unwilling to work. He is a MARXIST!

Violence in the Hood.

This past Thursday a young african american man was shot to death by the Pontiac police. It happend at 3:59 in the morning in the parking lot of the appartment building right across the street from our house. I was lying awake when I heard shouts and then two double taps. Four shots from the officers service weapon rang out in rapid succession. Then it was quiet. I grabbed the cell phone off the nightstand and dialed 911. After about 10 rings the operator answered and asked "what's your emergency?" As I explained that I just heard four shots, she cut me off and asked rather wryly, "Are you on Dwight?" I said yes and she stated that the police were already on the scene.

I got up and went to the window and saw seven police cruisers in and around that parking lot on the corner with lights flashing. There was a minivan in the parking lot that was facing our window and the rear passenger side door was open. I could see that the window had a hole in the center of it where the bullets had entered the vehicle. The Oakland Press newspaper on Friday reported that four shots were fired into the vehicle and that three of them had struck the victim. His body lay motionless on the pavement out the drivers side rear door.

The victum was just 22 years old and already had a long criminal history. Just a week before he had been arrested and released on a concealed weapons charge! He had a gun in his hand and was raising it up to point it at the officer that was approaching the driver's side of the vehicle. The two officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call in that parking lot and were attempting to question the occupants of the vehicle when the shooting took place. Both officers are on paid leave while the sheriffs department conducts an internal investigation. Pontiac police chief Valard Gross praised the officers and stated that they acted appropriately.

I am so tired of the amount of gun play here in our neighborhood that I am looking for employment elsewhere and am willing to relocate. It is time to leave here and that is sad. When we bought this house 3 years ago, I checked out the neighborhood with the police and drove around in it at all different times and on different days of the week; I did my due diligence. It was a much better area then and it is surprising how far it has fallen in such a short period of time. It is time to move on.

While a family morns the passing of a son, a brother, and a friend I am thankful that he died instead of the officer that he was apparently going to shoot. He was the (unwed) father of four and engaged to be married and lived in Rochester Hills. Now there are four more fatherless children on the planet. I am glad that there is an increased police presence here, but it is a shame that it has come to the point that the police have to kill the bad guys in full view of the people who do live here. There are lots of little children here. No little child should ever have to witness a lifeless but still warm body lying on the pavement. It is time to move on.

Chicago Politics Reach is Far and Wide.

The Blago fallout in Chicago politics is far from over, as new revelations from Roland Buris keep emerging as his recollection becomes clearer as a measure of damage control. The slippery nature of his tenure in office is predicated on lies. I mean, I remember the 5 second video of a Beaming squinty-eyed Buris whose head panned from the right to the left as he was announced as Blago's pick to fill the vacant senate seat from Illinois. His body language in that short clip smacked of contempt to me.

And just why is the President going to sign the spending spree into law in Denver anyway? It is all about the consolidation of power for the Democrats. "The Annointed One" parted the clouds and spoke from on high to his people at Invesco Field in Denver during the DNC. It is all for show. Make no mistake, President Obama has no desire to reach across the isle to Republicans. Quite the opposite in fact is what has just happened. The Republicans were brought into the room, given coffee, and promptly ignored when they gave their input for the stimulus bill. So the Republicans crafted the real the real example of bipartisanship; the opposition to this fraudulus bill.

So the radical liberal Democrats followed Saul Alinski's rule number 13 from his book "Rules for Radicals" and isolated the "target", which was the three weakest republicans that they could find because that is what they needed for unfettered passage of this crap legislation. They were worshiping their higher power of socialism, the antithesis to the idea of individual liberty upon which our country was founded.

But they have overreached here. It will come back to bite them when it all fails. The economy will right itself as it would have regardless of congressional meddling but now it will not only take much longer, but it will also create double digit inflation that they will be almost powerless to combat when the economy does right itself. Stagflation will occur because there will be high unempolyment and high inflation.

Which brings me back to the title of this post; it did all start in Chicago with Saul Alinski. A committed socialist who is absolutely idolized by Obama, and his ideas and tactics have been embraced by the liberals in the Democratic party. Those liberals have hijacked the Democratic Party platform and most of those who affiliate themselves with, associate with, or otherwise call themselves Democrats are clueless as to this, or for that fact just who Saul Alinski was; a communist loving socialist Russian Jew born in Chicago in 1909.

In other words, the radical Chicago liberal Democratic movement that has swept Obama into dictator like power, has reached its zenith. from now on the honeymoon will wane and the Democrats power will wax as the country shakes off the failed policies that have and will emerge from the Obama tenure in office. I predict that he will be a one term wonder, a flash in the pan so to speak. One can only hope. Now that is audacious Obama!

Nationalized Health Care Through the Back Door.

Well the stimulus bill passed in the Senate. What is really going on in Washington is shameful. They are using the economy as an excuse to "back door" health care reform. The language in this stimulus bill regarding health care reforms puts the federal government in charge of determining just who can have what procedures, treatments, or medications. Most of the Senators did not even read all the language in this bill before voting on it either. And In this day and age of rampant identity theft, I am not enthused about the prospect of having all of my medical records stored on some server somewhere that is connected in any way online. I would much rather have just a paper trail because it is much less susceptible to theft than online records. If banks, credit card companies, and big box retailers can't keep your electronic data safe, how can we expect hospitals to be any better at safeguarding data? And so much more is at stake here than just credit or identity. The information in your medical records could be used to blacklist, blackmail, or outright ruin a person should it find its way into the wrong hands.

I am sorry, but I will be the first one to say, "I told you so" when it starts happening. Electronic medical records is a bad idea. It would save money, but the trade off in potential for damage from a breach in security is unacceptable. Once again unintended consequences will overpower any good intentions of such legislation.

And this really does miss the whole point anyways; that health care is not broken and so doesn't require any fixing. It is the insurance industry that needs to be reformed, not health care itself. Keep health care private. Legislate insurance reform instead. What a novel idea; fix what is broken, do not meddle with what is working!

This brand of socialism has no place in a free and democratic society anyway. Our whole society is predicated on free market capitalism. Why should the health care industry be any different? Open and free competition breeds the innovation and resourcefulness that provides the best standard of care possible. The free market system produces the fastest course to providing best practices because the demand for the highest quality care is prevalent and demand is what drives any market. Can you imagine how bogged down care would be if big brother were having to hold a committee regarding which path to take? Not very efficient in terms of lives saved, perhaps they would save some money, but patient mortality will no doubt increase drastically with bureaucratic wrangling and red tape.
